A great weekend for the Tigers with our 2 day teams in good positions after day 1 and our One Day teams won all 4 games.
4th Grade were at home to Kenwick, lost the toss and bowled first. Kenwick got away to a fast start adding 116 in just 24 overs until Vijay Kumar made the breakthrough. The squeeze was put on the batsmen with them reaching 3/188 after 52 overs when the bowlers struck back taking the last 8 wickets for just 49 runs, restricting the score to 225. Vijay was fantastic taking 6/62 with Daljeet Singh taking 3/46 and a wicket to Asim Qureshi. Our openers had to see off 10 overs, making 6 runs for no loss. A big chase is on for next week.
6th Grade were away to Kenwick, won the toss and batted first. A slow but steady start by Russell and Shamez laid the foundation for a great day, adding 70 for the first wicket when Russell fell for a well made 29. Shamez was joined by Sanjeev Saini who was in a hitting mood. The Tigers reached 1/130 at tea but lost Sanjeev a while later for a brilliant 34 with 4 sixes and 1 four, the pair adding 71. Shamez was looking good for his first century but fell when he smashed one back to the bowler and he hung on, Shamez making a fantastic knock of 84 with 12 fours. Chandreseka, Dempsey and Steve added valuable runs at the end, batting out the overs, we finished on 8/220 a good score to defend next week.

7th Grade were at home to Cockburn, lost the toss and bowled first. Our bowlers were on top at the start and reduced Cockburn to 7/87, but a fightback from their lower order added valuable runs getting them to 165 in 59 overs. Captain Reddy Madamshetti bowled brilliantly taking 4/36 with the other bowlers sharing a wicket each. We need good partnerships next week to chase down the total.

ODB bounced back with a win vs Roleystone, losing the toss and bowling first, our bowlers dominated rolling them for a paltry 94 in 25 overs. Dinesh Kanagala taking 2/19 with Siddhanth Mokala breaking a partnership and cleaning up the tail taking 4/10. The chase had a few bumps along the way but we passed the total 6 wickets down and went on to make 123, Wajahat Nazeer making 25 from 26 balls. A good comeback win!
ODC were away to Leeming, lost the toss and batted first. After a quick wicket fell, partnerships developed of 58 and 43 runs, taking us to 3/107 with opener Sujit Pankajakshan making 39 and Eldose Paul 24. Wickets started to tumble but Sarath Mohan batted well with the tail making 53 as we reached 9/179. Our opening bowlers Anto Baby 2/17 and Amal Babu 2/12 struck hard taking 4/6 before a 63 runs partnership got Leeming back in the game. That was ended by Vinod Suneeth 1/23 and Vipin Varghese 1/13, plus a run out from Anto, as Akhil Mathew with 3/4 cleaned up the tail, bowling them out for 102. A dominating performance.
ODE were at Sutherlands vs Jandakot winning the toss and batting first. A steady start was followed by a succession of wickets as we tumbled from 1/34 to 8/92 only opener Eldhose Baby with 29 reaching double figures. A match saving partnership was needed and delivered from Melvin Thomas 30 and Subin Thomas 27 putting on 53, getting out total to 155. Our bowlers took 2 quick wickets before a 52 run partnership was ended with the introduction of Syed Ali 3/29 and Nanda Kumar 4/5 from 6 overs, bowling them out for 102. Well done Tigers!
ODG had a tight game vs Kardinya away from home. We lost the toss and bowled first as Kardinya got off to a solid start reaching 3/95, the wickets then tumbled with Adeesha Welgama 3/27 and Sakun Dissanayake 2/18 we kept them to 8/130. The chase started wobbly losing 3 quick wickets but Captain Mohamed Zainudeen with 40 and Lakmal Madushanka 36no held the innings together as we just got over the line making 144. A good start to the season!
