A good weekend for the Tigers as we win 5 out of 7 games with our 1 day grades getting started.

4th Grade bounced back from last weeks defeat with a win away from home at Canning Vale. Losing the toss and bowling first, a wicket in the first over set the tone for the day as we rolled Canning Vale, the newcomers to the SMCA, for just 141. Sunil Dogra bowled with pace taking 2/23 with MT Saleem spinning his way to 3/12 and Vijay chipping in with 2/14. A wicket each to Chhabra and Bashir. The chase started badly losing a quick wicket, but Captain Umar Qureshi 23 and MD Bashir put on 104 runs to stamp our dominance on the game. Bashir making a fine 85 from 78 balls. Haroon smashed 50 off 40 balls and Vijay a steady 31no with MT Saleem adding 21no in a total of 4/235. A very strong win!!

4th Grade vs Canning Vale

6th Grade were at home to Kelmscott, lost the toass and batted first. Things did not go well for the Tigers and were bowled out for just 82. Only Vinnie with 25 made an impact on the day. Kelmscott easily chased the score and piled on the pain making 211. Two wickets each to Harsh, Guri, Russell and Della in a game we need to take lessons from. Need to pick up the pieces for next weeks 2 dayer.

7th Grade made it 2 from 2 with another strong performance away to Kardinya. Bowling first we bowled them out for 136, Pardeep Kumar taking 4/25, Abdul Aziz 3/24, Vepesh Kukkala 2/16 and Balvinder 1/16. If not for 28 wides it could have been better. We got away to a good start in the chase adding 65 for the fall of 2 wickets when a big partnership of 109 from Siva Ankam 56 from 38 balls and Balvinder Kumar 54 sealed the win. A big total of 5/241 was posted by the Tigers. Ajay Reddy making 38 and Manoj Kiradi 25no. Keep up the positive play boys!

ODB were at home to Thornlie, lost the toss and bowled first. Our bowlers did well keeping Thornlie to 200 with Dinaker Narasani 4/39 and Siddharth Bachhawat 3/18 the best of the bowlers. The chase was on and a brilliant 83, with 5 fours and 5 sixes from Sindhu Govindhu and 37 from Manoj Yelavarthy almost got us the points, finishing just 7 runs short on 9/193. I’m sure the Tigers will bounce back next week.

ODB vs Thornlie

ODC absolutely dominated at Queens park in their game vs Armadale. Batting first we piled on the runs making 7/302. Captain Irshad Ali 33 along with Vinish Payappilly 73 with 6 fours and 5 sixes added 96 runs and then some big hitting from Vinod Suneeth 69 with 7 fours and 4 sixes and Nithin Radhakrishna 79no with 4 fours and 5 sixes added 104 runs in the massive total. Armadale were never in the hunt as we bundled them out for just 55 in 23 overs, Jouhar Khan 3/8, Ciril Jose 2/15, Santhosh Sunny 2/7 and Amal Babu 1/16 blew the Demons away with the ball. Great win Tigers!

ODE were away to Piara Waters, won the toss and batted first. A brilliant start with a stand of 115 between Akhil Mathew 52 and Yesudas Kuriakose 91 from 94 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes, saw us dominate, that was followed with another 78 run stand between Stefan Varughese 36 and Yesudas leading to a total of 6/248. Piara Waters never took up the challenge of making the runs against our tight attack making just 7/121, Nanda Kumar 2/11 and Joel Joy 2/14 with a wicket each to Rahul, Shanab and Melvin. A great start top the season Tigers!

ODG were at their home for the season at Sutherlands Park vs Canning Vale, lost the toss and bowled first. Our bowlers dominated and if not for 35 wides would have bowled them out for less than their 137. Three wickets each to Saliya 3/16, Adeesha 3/25 and Sakun 3/16 was the highlight. The chase was a bit wobbly at the start until a fine 46 from Saliya and 29 from Lakmal along with 41 wides!! we finished on 8/168. A good first up win, but lets get those wides fixed. Well done Tigers!
