Some really close games on the weekend has mixed results for the Tigers
Fourth Grade were in a good position with 201 runs on the board and Cockburn at 3/15. Sunil Dogra was bowling with fire as he removed 2 more Cavaliers to have them in real trouble at 5/35 but they fought back with a big partnership of 83 before the Tigers struck again at 118, 140, 162 and then 9/172. The game looked to be ours but the tailenders dug in and slowly reduced the margin till the 80th over when a boundary got them over the line. They ended with 218 off 83.5 overs. Vijay Kumar bowled all day taking 4/85 off 35 overs with 13 maidens, Sunil Dogra was exceptional with 3/29 off 17 overs and Saeed Ahmad took 2/35 off 16 overs. A great effort against a top four side. But a tough loss!
Sixth Grade were chasing 219 vs Cockburn but lost Shamez early and got tied down by the tight bowling. Jackson fell at 3/50 when Della and Matty put on 52 runs to get us back in the game. Della lost his wicket for a well made 35 and Matty Pedulla 29 and we were bowled out for 140 with a disappointing finish. Cockburn batted again for 8 overs making 3/25 with Steve Hall taking 2/11 and Guri Singh 1/10. A big win is needed next fixture!
Seventh Grade were away to Phoenix, lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Opener Vepesh Kukkala hung in there as wickets fell around him and at 4/67 he was joined by Captain Reddy Madamshetti as they added a further 54 runs before Vepesh fell for 41 at 5/121. Reddy made a quick 43 as the wickets tumbled near the closing, to end on 169 all out. Phoenix batted steadily at the start and reached 50 before losing a wicket to Reddy. Our bowlers gave nothing away as Phoenix sluggishly made their way to 5/133 after their 35 overs. A 36 run victory. Manoj Kiradi taking 2/10. The win keeps us in 2nd place.

Wajahat Nazeer and Siddhanth Mokala 2/43 struck early to have them 2/33 but Perth Tamil were looking strong as they ran away with the match, piling on the runs in the last 10 overs to post 5/290 to give ODB their 3rd straight loss and in danger of falling out the top four. Let’s bounce back next week Tigers!!
