We celebrate our first Centurions for the season with 2 Tigers notching up the 3 figures, 2 wins and 2 losses from our One Day sides and week 1 of the 2 dayers have some mixed results.

Fourth Grade needed to bounce back from last week and they did so in style. Playing away to Roleystone, we lost the toss and bowled first. Sunil Dogra took 2 quick wickets to set the tone on an overcast day to have them in early trouble at 2/9. The introduction of Saeed Ahmad and Vijay Kumar would send the opposition into free fall as the wickets tumbled to bowl them out in 36.2 overs for just 64, Vijay taking 4/20, Saeed 3/17 and Sunil 2/2 from 7 overs. Asim Qureshi taking 1/9. We then batted for 19 overs before rain and bad light stopped play raching 2/59, Sunil Dogra making 20 and Umar Qureshi unbeaten on 21. A very commanding position and maybe an outright victory in sight.

Sixth Grade were at home to Hilton after their big win last week, won the toss and batted first, which they may regret, after being bowled out for just 95 off 49 overs. Della top scoring with 22 and Dempsey making 17no. We struck back with the ball to give ourselves a chance next week, Hilton finishing on 2/13, a wicket each to Steve and Farooq.

Seventh Grade bounced back from last weeks shock loss, playing top side Forrestdale away. Losing the toss and being asked to bat we made a fairly solid start to be 3/61. We didn’t lose another wicket till 204 with a partnership of 143 between Mohammad Aamer and Reddy Madamshetti, Reddy making a fine 64 from 73 balls. Aamer would go on batting with help from the lower order, to post a fantastic century, finally falling for 127 with a run out. He made this in 150 balls with 12 fours and 1 six, the team posting 304 from 57 overs, still 8 overs left in the day. A fantastic day for the team and Congratulations to Mohammad Aamer for a brilliant century.

ODB were away to Hilton, won the toss and batted first. A great start as opener Siddhanth Mokala starred in 4 partnerships to post his century, scoring 114 off 91 balls with 14 fours and 4 sixes, before he was dismissed on 4/173. Dinaker Narasani would make 27 batting with the lower order to post a team score of 7/219. The Hilton openers would put on 106 before losing a wicket, setting up a good game, but our bowlers would take control with Dinaker removing both openers and then Phani Katta destroying the middle order, taking 4/21 and Manoj Yelavarthy finishing them off with 2/18. Keeping Hilton to 9/179.Dinesh Kanagala taking 5 catches in the field! A great win topped off with a superb century from Siddhanth Mokala 114. Congratulations!!

ODC were at home to Phoenix, lost the toss and bowled first. Phoenix started very well and at 3/125 were right on top, but the introduction of Vysakh Menon would keep them to 191, Vysakh taking 5/20 in a great spell of bowling. The run chase got off to a flying start with Vysakh making a brisk 32 and Sujit hanging around to make 33. Sarath Mohan added 41 runs with Vipin Varghese making 52no with 3 fours and 4 sixes as we passed the score and ended on 8/247. A Great win fellas!

ODE were away to East Fremantle, won the toss and batted first. Things did not go well as we lost wickets quickly and were bowled out for just 62, Jinil Raphel top scoring with 17. East Freo then piled on the runs, with the help of some A Grade players??, to score 6/203, Subin Thomas taking 2/22. A tough game, but only our first loss for the season.

ODG were at Sutherlands to Jandakot, won the toss and bowled first. After a strong start by Jandakot, our bowlers struck back to take 7 wickets for 40 runs and reduce them to 7/85 and it looked like we were on top, but some big hitting by their number 6 took our bowlers apart as Jandakot finished on 9/177. Manula 3/20, Sakun 3/30 and Adeesha 3/34 were the main wicket takers. The run chase never got going and we finished on 9/99, Sakun Dissanayake making 28no. The first loss of the season for the ODG Tigers!
