A big win to 4th Grade, a first loss to 6th Grade and our One Day teams start off the T20s with 3 wins out of 3.
4th Grade recommenced their game vs Roleystone at 2/66 chasing 98 for victory and passed it with no further loss of wicket. MT Saleem scoring 51 as opener, we lost regular wickets to reach 8/160 until a partnership of 68 between Sunil Dogra 54no and Jodat Malik 21 got us to 9/228 when our captain decided to declare, giving us 27 overs to force an outright victory, but was the declaration too late?
Our bowlers were on top from the outset removing the first 4 batsmen for 17 with Guri Singh taking 3/9 and when Vijay Kumar was introduced Roleystone lost wickets quickly to be 8/41 but stubborn resistance from the tail saw them hold out till 5 minutes from the end when the 9th wicket fell. A tense last over saw them hold on, ending on 9/54 with Vijay ending with 5/31, his second 5 wicket haul for the season. So close to an outright but a convincing win.
6th Grade were chasing 202 for victory vs Kenwick and got away to a moderate start before Tyler was adjudged LBW from a dubious decision. This lead to a runout and another LBW and we were in trouble at 3/23. Another 3 wickets fell in the next 10 overs and we were now 6/55, but a rearguard partnership between Vinnie 34no from 128 balls and Harsh 9 from 70 balls eeked our score to 7/88 and then Asim with Vinnie added another 25 runs 8/113, we were bowled out for 115 with 40 minutes left.
Kenwick came out guns blazing with only 9 overs to bowl adding 56 in 5 overs before Vinnie picked up a wicket. They continued to slog but in the last over Salman Farsi picked up 3 wickets for 3 runs to give us some valuable points. The final score 4/89. Let’s pick ourselves up next week fellas!

ODC took on SJ Blues at Coker Park won the toss and batted first. Our bats were all firing as we amassed a huge score of 5/185 from the 20 overs, Sarath Mohan making 40 as opener and Vipin Varghese 43no with 2 sixes and 2 fours. Our bowlers bowled tight and restricted the boundaries to hold SJ Blues to 4/137 and an easy victory. A wicket each to P Sabu, S Mohan and S Rajendran. Well done Tigers!

ODE were away to Leeming, won the toss and batted first. We got away to a slow start losing 3/33 early before a 100 run partnership between Yesudas Kuriakose 41 with 4 fours and 2 sixes and Cristo Clement 42 with 6 fours set up a total of 6/142. Leeming were never in the hunt as our bowlers dominated with Rahul Nair taking 3/6 from 3 overs and Abin Roy 3/12 from 4 overs and a wicket each to Benson Benny and Joel Joy. Our keeper Syed Ali with 3 stumpings capped off a dominant win.
ODH were away to Armadale lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Six of our batsmen reached double figures but no one could pass 20 with Irosh top scoring with 19 as we posted a moderate score of 8/124. Our bowlers kept it tight in a close game and when Armadale lost their 5th wicket for 92 it was any ones game. But we managed to keep them at bay and won by just 3 runs keeping them to 5/121 off the 20 overs. A great close win sets up a good start to the T20 competition.
