What a wild weekend of matches as we welcome our 3 new teams to the Cannington Tigers den. We saw 3 thrillers, a huge win and an upset loss.
4th Grade were at home to Willetton, lost the toss and bowled first. Our bowlers were on the mark from the start and a steady fall of wickets had Willetton in trouble at 6/62 but a small partnership got them to 104 before 3 quick wickets had them 9/105 but a last wicket partnership of 25 got them to 130. Sunil Dogra took 3/34, S Ahmad 2/19, FS Ali 2/23 and Vijay Kumar 2/15.
Our openers got off to a great quick start scoring 50 before losing Haroon for 16, then Vijay for a duck and Kanwar Deep for a well made 33. This sparked a steady fall of wickets and the 130 chase was too much for us, bowled out for just 94. Let;s bounce back next week.
6th Grade travelled to Orelia Oval to take on Kwinana, won the toss and batted first. A bad start had us at 2/4 with Della and Farsi sent packing. A small partnership got us to 26 before 2 more fell leaving us 4/27. Guri came in and smashed 3 boundaries before falling for 15, our highest scorer, and we were bowled out for just 77 in 22 overs.
Kwinana started cautiously before the breakthrough came from Harsh, followed by 2 quick wickets from Asim had them 3/20. Tea was taken and Kwinana fought back with a partnership of 31 and the game looked almost gone, but a great caught and bowled from Connor started the collapse at 4/51. Harsh was bought back into the attack along with Asim and they destroyed the Kwinana middle and tail order. Harsh bowled straight and fast taking a magnificent 6/13 with 5 LBWs and Asim finished with 3/17. An amazing win from an impossible position shows a lot of heart. Well done boys.

ODC were at home to Thornlie (our ODD team from last few years) in a thrilling match that came down to the last over. Winning the toss and batting first we made 5/212 with solid contributions from all the batsmen, Irshad Ali 48 and Nithin Radakrishna 43 our top scorers.
Our bowlers shared the wickets around with Jobin Thomas the best with 3/23 as Thornlie reached 6/121, but an attacking innings from Gihan of 63no got them over the line in the last over of the game. Good luck for next week guys.
ODE were away to Armadale, lost the toss and bowled first. Our bowlers were dominant from the start as we bowled them out for just 77. Amal Babu 3/17 and Safil Sharif 2/9 the best of our attack. The chase started badly losing 5 wickets for just 39 before a 93 run partnership between Yesudas Kuriakose 64 off just 51 balls with 4 sixes and 5 fours, and Abin Roy 45no sealed the game with us eventually reaching 7/186. A great first up win!
ODH were away to Willetton, won the toss and batted first. A good solid start from the top order got us to 6/139 with contributions from Mohamed Zainudeen 30 and Rusiru Pitiyage 29, but a fall of wickets at the end saw us reach only 155. Our bowlers were on top from the start, sharing the wickets around with Nuwan Liyanaarachichi 3/30, Rusiru Pitiyage 2/14 and Hesham Kothalawala 2/30 the best of the bowlers. Willetton were in real trouble at 9/106 but the inexperience of our team and a fine knock from their number 7 with 50no got them over the line. It will be a good lesson for the team in upcoming matches and the rest of the season.
