Weekend Wrap – 21st November – Cannington Tigers Cricket Club

Fourth Grade pile on the runs, Sixth Grade get their first win and ODD lose a tight one besides our 1st Century of the season.

4th Grade were chasing 140 vs Kwinana and passed the total before tea, with a fantastic display of batting. Opener FS Ali made 39 before being the 3rd wicket to fall, bringing together Dempsey Badorek 32 and Vijay Kumar 55 with a partnership of 86 that sealed the win. Haroon Ahmed 28 and a great knock from Saeed Ahmad of 62 piled on the runs, with Guri Singh coming in at the close with a quickfire 51 off 23 balls with 3 sixes and 6 fours. A final total of 328 with still 7 overs to go was commanding. Well done boys!

5th Grade were chasing 230 vs CBC but came up 100 runs short, but batted all of their overs. A fine knock of 35 from Keegan and 27 from Vinnie were the highlight for the day. Let’s bounce back next game lads!

6th Grade resumed their bowling, with Armadale on 5/51, they were quickly reduced to 7/59 with 2 quick wickets from Stuey 2/28 and then Ambo chimed in with the last 3 wickets, to give him a 5fa, with 5/27, bowling them all out for 78 off 46.4 overs. The chase started steadily before losing our first wicket, Callum 18 at 26, then followed a 68 run partnership which sealed the win between Richo 51 and Umar 31. Connor made a fine 34 with Asim making a brisk 20no, we ended on 6/173 off 53 overs and a first win in 6th grade.

ODD went from miracle winners last week to miracle losers this week, with a heart breaking loss to Jandakot Park at home. Jandakot batted first and ended up on 4/215 from their 35 overs. Gihan, Anushka and Hasi with 1 wicket each. The chase started well with opener Joseph in full flight and the Tigers looking good at 4/167. Joseph Wijayamini made the clubs first century with an even 100 and the score on 5/176 we still looked good. But 2 wickets fell on 202 and then with just 3 runs to win, we lost the last 3 wickets for no score and still 2 overs left to bowl, all out for 213. One that got away fellas.
