3 wins and 1 loss on the weekend, see 6th, 7th grade and ODG cement a spot in the finals with ODD in dire need of a win to stay in the four.

6th Grade were chasing 177 vs Cockburn at home, but a couple of early wickets saw us dig in a for a long chase. Another wicket fell at 3/56 but then it was Farroq Ali 58 with Vijay Kumar 48 and then with Haroon Ahmed 45 with strong partnerships that saw us pass the score with ease. We ended on 219 all out and a firm grip on top spot.

7th Grade only needed 10 runs for victory vs Cockburn resuming at 2/63, but 2 more wickets fell before we could celebrate. We limped to 8/110 from 57 overs before Captain Steve Hall declared and sent Cockburn back in. Bowling again, young Jared Delamere showed he has a bright future ahead of him taking 3/19, with Cockburn ending the day on 4/61 from 29 overs. A top win to celebrate Vinnie’s 200th game and a spot in the four.

ODD lost their 3rd straight game vs Jandakot at Atwell oval and are in dire need of a win next week. Sent in to bat we never really got any partnerships going and if not for 53 wides our total of 9/147 would have been much worse. Manu top scored with 26. Jandakot looked solid from the start of the chase and never looked in doubt to post just their 2nd win of the year, ending up on 8/176, two wickets each to Naleen, Irosh and Anushka. Let’s see us rise up to the fight next week boys!

ODG lost the toss, for a change, vs Forrestdale at home and were sent into bat. After Richo departed for just 10, Callum dug in while Stuey played one of his classic dominant innings. They put on 75 before Callum was out with 18 and at drinks we were looking very strong at 2/106. Stuey kept the foot on the pedal after drinks but played one too many big hits and was caught on the boundary for a brilliant 71 with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Stuey’s departure saw a mini collapse but some aggressive batting by Tyler 26 at the end saw us get to 9/167. Our bowlers started strong with some very tight bowling with Stuey getting an early LBW call. They sent in their big hitter at 3 but a brilliant catch by Brian Downing ended his innings and so too their push for a win as they blocked and dabbed their way to 7/121, Asim Qureshi with 2/27 and 1 wicket each to Stuey, Ambo, Azza and Connor. Another solid win boys!
