It was a good weekend for the Tigers with 4 wins from 4 matches.
6th Grade made 223 last week vs East Fremantle and finished off the job this weekend by bowling them out for just 107 in 43 overs. Gursewak Singh 4/26 was in fine form removing the first 4 batsmen with just 52 runs on the board. A bit of a fight back by the opposition was then halted by Vijay Kumar who finished them off taking his second 5 for in his time with the Tigers, with a fine 5/25. A second dig of 13 overs saw the Tigers add 1/50 with Am Ali on 24no. Great win boys!
7th Grade were chasing a total of 134 vs Thornlie, so a solid partnership was needed and it was delivered by Vinnie Ciancio 67 and Dempsey Badorek 87no, putting on the largest partnership so far this season of 145. The boys batted all day finally posting 7/235 from 73 overs. That’s 3 wins in a row now from the boys as we head back into 1 day mode next weekend.
ODD were back to winning ways vs Jandakot Park at home, batting first and making 6/207 from their 35 overs. Captain Chaminda Mendis leading the way with a fine 50 and contributions from Maka Dias 28 and Arjuna Hettiarachchi 32no. Our bowlers then did a great job bowling Jandakot out for 116 in 28 overs. Naleen Fernando 3/30, Anushka Wirasekara 3/10 and Arjuna Hettiarachchi 2/35 were the best of the bowlers. Well done fellas!
ODG played another away game, this time vs Maddington. Losing the toss we were sent in on an up and down wicket that was doing all sorts of weird things. Richo finally scored some runs and dug in for the long hall with a very patient 27. Aaron Dyer then came in and flayed the ball to all parts of the ground for a well made 39no, getting us to 6/151. A wicket from the very first ball by Steve Ambler was a bad sign for the opposition and apart from a quick fire innings from their number 3, Maddington were all out for just 84 from 24 overs. Stuart Riseley was at his best with 3/12, Steve Ambler got a bit of stick with 2/43, Asim in his 50th game bowled tight with 2/17 and Aaron Dyer was unplayable taking 2/11. Another dominant win from the Tigers!
