Another heatwave brings better results for the Tigers this weekend.

6th Grade traveled to East Fremantle, won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first. After an early wicket, captain and 150th game Tiger, Shamez 41 and Amin Ali 40 put together a 75 run partnership to put the boys in a strong position. Vijay Kumar with 44no and Umar Qureshi 28 gave us good runs in the middle and end to finish with a healthy score of 223 off 58 overs. Good bowling next week is in order to bring home another victory.

7th Grade were at home to Thornlie, lost the toss and were asked to bowl in the heat of the day. A good start by the visitors saw them at 2/87 in a very strong position, but a breakthrough by debutant, 14yr old Jared Delamere 2/23, saw Thornlie start a collapse which was finished off by Jack Robb with 3/14. Captain Steve Hall also chipped in with 2/32 to roll the visitors for 134 off 44 overs. Vinnie and Steve then saw off the 9 overs without loss to be 0/25 at stumps. Smart batting is required next week to record another win for the Tigers.

ODD were at home to Perth Tamil, won the toss and batted first. A shaky start with 2 run outs was not what we were looking for but Manu Pathinaike 19 and Naleen Fernando 28 held the side together until another 2 run outs saw the Tigers all out for just 108 from 30 overs. Defending a small total was going to be tough but a great start saw the visitors struggling at 4/16 with Samidon 2/24 and Ranathunga 2/24 doing the damage. But a strong partnership of 110 saw the fight off and the visitors cruised to victory finally posting 9/243. We need a bounce back win next week fellas.

ODG traveled to Forrestdale, won the toss and decided to bat first. After a quick wicket in the first over, Callum Richards 54 (his first ever 50) and Stuart Riseley 33 in 19 balls, got us to 53 after 7 overs. Darren Third 59no then joined Callum to put on a further 96 runs to set us up at 3/149 after 27 overs, Aaron Dyer made a quick 13 and Nick Davey 12no along with Darren got our total to an impressive 5/196. Our bowlers kept things in check at the start and had them 3/56 after 12 overs then Aaron Dyer 3/27 and Stuart Riseley 2/12 destroyed the middle order and had them 7/93 after 24 overs. Some big hitting from the tail saw them reach 155 all out with Steve Ambler 2/17 ever reliable and Asim Qureshi 2/24 on the money. A good win after last weeks loss and back on track again.
