The New Year starts off with a BANG!
6th Grade were at home vs Riverton/Rostrata, won the toss and batted their full 40 overs. Shane Wood played his best innings yet for the Tigers making 93 including 4 sixes and 7 fours out of a total of 8/182. Our bowlers then restricted the opposition to just 112 with Woodsy having the game of his life taking 5/10 to go with his fine knock and Jackson Curthoys taking 3/5 from 5 overs. The boys are now in the Final Four and their destiny is now in their own hands. Well done fellas!
ODA played in a nailbiter vs Champion Lakes losing by just 1 run. We bowled first and kept the foe to just 7/155 with Asim Mehmood taking 3/23 and FS Ali 2/45. In the run chase Waqas Mehdi 38 Satvinder Singh 32 and FS Ali 28 did their best to get us there but we fell just short. The boys are still a game clear in 1st place despite the loss.
ODC continued their winning ways playing at home vs Bicton/Attadale. Winning the toss and batting first the Tigers amassed 8/222 with D Canakapalli 48 Venkat Kiran 35 Naveen Tirupari 29 and Krishna Kalluri 27 leading the way. The visitors put up a good chase but the total was just too big with the Tigers keeping them to 7/186 with all the bowlers sharing the wickets around.
ODE travelled to Sutherlands Park to play Piara Waters, lost the toss and were sent in. A fantastic 2nd wicket partnership of 166 between Shamez Rashid 78 and Stuart Riseley 68 set up a mammoth total of 5/219 from 35 overs and was always going to be too much for the opposition. Steve Ambler lead the way with the ball taking 3/15 and ably supported by Asim Qureshi 2/13 and Manu Pathinaike 2/27 keeping them to 9/131. Aaron Dyer took the catch of the season with a brilliant one handed leaping catch at cover to get the boys revved up.
