Tigers provide plenty of action in the HEAT!!

6th Grade played at home in a nail biter vs top side Thornlie. Sent in to bat where the temperature reached 41 degrees our openers Chris McLean 24 and Sohail Razzaq 45 put on 74 to set up a good score, but a couple of silly run outs and some tight bowling kept the Tigers to just 130. Thornlie openers also got off to a good start but some tight bowling saw the visitors crash to 8/89 but a rear guard partnership got them over the line by 2 runs ending on 8/132. Best of our bowlers were Shane Wood 2/26, Paul McLean 3/34 and Harsh Jansali 2/21. We go into the break just 3 points out of the top 4.

ODA travelled to Hilton and continued their winning form. Batting first the Tigers piled on the runs scoring 5/261 with Captain Waqas Mehdi leading the way with a blistering 91 with 4 sixes and 11 fours, Asim Mehmood 51, Umar Qureshi 46 and Vijay Kumar 25no in his 150th game. Hilton were never in the hunt with a steady fall of wickets keeping them to just 127, Vijay Kumar leading the bowlers with 3/35 and Asim Qureshi from ODE taking 2/24. We go into the break on top of the ladder 2 games clear.

ODC played at home to Thornlie with the visitors batting first and making 3/159 in very hot conditions. The Tigers took only 1 wicket, Reddy Madamshetti 1/25 with the other 2 wickets being run outs. The chase saw several good partnerships, passing the score with just 5 wickets down, finally ending on 9/196, D Canakapalli 55, Naveen Tirupari 38 and Ritesh Kumar 31 leading the way. We go into the break in 3rd place on the ladder due to a loss of points for technical details.

ODE won by forfeit over Bicton/Attadale and avoided the sweltering heat. We go into the break in 2nd place on the ladder, 2 games clear of 3rd spot.

On behalf of the Tigers Committee, Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all Tigers, present and past. Be safe during the break and see you all in 2019.
