It’s the start of a new season and it’s the start of a new year of “Blast From The Past”. This weeks blast #13 is Tom Barr. Tom played in 168 matches (many years of stats are missing) from 1972/73 to 2003/04. Tom served the club for 33 years as a player which is equal 6th of all time. Tom played most of his games in 3rd to 6th grade and was a very handy bowler and a scrappy batsman.

With the bat Tom scored 935 runs at an average of 5.19 with a highest score of 44 vs Armadale in 1992/93, but it was with the ball that Tom was in his element taking 162 wickets at an average of 21.71. He took 3, 5 wicket hauls with his best haul of 5/18 vs Thornlie in 1982/83.

Tom was a true Tiger and served the club on committees for many years and still to this day comes down the club to support the boys. Tom was made a life member of the Tigers in 1996.
