A topsy turvy weekend as we win 4 and lose 3.
4th Grade lost vs Willetton. We showed some fight on the second day as we bowled Willetton out for 9/163 with Ajimon Paul Thurai taking 3/22 and Shahzad Rafique 3/42. Our second innings was much better ending the day on 7/175 from 47 overs. Shahzad Rafique making 34 off 11 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes, Muhammad Tariq Saleem 28 and Ketan Dwivedi 52no. We are still in a battle for 4th spot so need to win the last 2 games.
6th Grade couldn’t chase down the 141 it needed for victory vs Cockburn. We ended on 119 all out after looking good at 5/102, we lost our last 5 wickets for 17 runs. Steven Hall batted well for 32 as opener with Liam Bastin making 23 and Keegan Bennett 25. The loss didn’t effect our top of the ladder standing, but we need a big performance against Hilton/Bicton next week to stay top.
7th Grade had a big win vs top of the table leader Armadale. Defending our 9/182 we kept the Armadale bats quiet bowling them out for 123, Dinakar Reddy Narasani getting the big wicket and then cleaning up the tail to take 4/8, Nagarjuna Karnam taking 3/31 and Siddharth Bachhawat 3/31. Batting a second time we got off to a flying start with openers Siddhanth Mokala and Wajahat Nazeer putting on 127 in 13 overs, Siddhanth Mokala on fire with 84 from 48 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes and Wajahat Nazeer 49 from 42 balls with 1 four and 5 sixes. We ended on 4/173 from just 23 overs. The win cements us in 4th spot with 2 games against lower teams left.
ODA broke it’s losing streak with a great win vs Kenwick. Batting first we got away to a great start with opener Yeshwanth Kallem in fine form making 49 from 38 balls with 9 fours. Dwarakanath Canakapalli Naga added 39 runs and then the tail added valuable runs to get the total to 213. Our bowlers did the job keeping Kenwick to 171 thanks to Yeshwanth Kallem having a great all round performance with 4/23, Manoj Kiradi took 2/39 and Reddy Madamshetti 2/20. Well done Tigers!!
ODB had a close loss vs Hilton/Bicton. Batting first we got off to a great start adding 87 for the first wicket thanks to openers Eldose Paul with 59 from 61 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes along with Yesudas Kuriakose making 41, Abel Jey made 32 and we were 5/154 but we fell away and were bundled out for 173 with 8 balls left. It would prove costly as Hilton ended on 7/174 with 8 balls left but our 34 extras also proved costly. Shanab Valappil bowled well to take 3/14. The loss takes us to second spot on the ladder.
ODD had a good bounce back win after last weeks loss. Batting first vs North Baldivis we posted a good score of 164 with contributions from Riju Mathew with 39 and a quickfire innings from Libu Louis Jainy of 58 from 43 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. North Baldivis were then bundled out for just 115, our bowlers dominating with Ciril Jose taking 3/21, Libu Louis Jainy 2/29 and Jobin Thomas 2/23. The win keeps us on top of the ladder.
ODE made it 7 wins in a row with a commanding performance vs Forrestdale. Batting first we piled on the runs with Captain Mohamed Zainudeen top scoring with 63 from 55 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Lakmal Madushanka made 36 and Rusiru Pitiyage 28. We then bowled Forrestdale out for just 46 in 16 overs. Rusiru Pitiyage taking 4/22 and Nuwan Jayathma Liyanaarachchi 3/15. The win keeps us equal top.
