Our one day teams win 2 and lose 2. Sixth and Seventh Grade have good days and Yasas bags another 5 wicket haul.
4th Grade had a bad day vs Willetton. Batting first we were all out for just 77 with only 4 batsmen making it to double figures. Willetton are 2/54 in reply and it will take a big comeback next week to get some needed points.
6th Grade bowled first against their nemisis Cockburn at home. Cockburn were looking the goods at 3/117 but an inspired spell of bowling from Captain Steve Hall with 4/32 bought them crashing down with Liam Bastin finishing them off with 4/24 to have them all out for 141, losing 7 wickets for 24 runs and putting us in a commanding position next week.
7th Grade batted first against ladder leaders Armadale and came out of the blocks firing thanks to a super fast innings from Siddhanth Mokala scoring 75 from 48 deliveries with 11 fours and 2 sixes. Abley supported by Manoj Yelavarthy Mohan with 40 we reached 9/182 when we declared. That left us with 10 overs to do some damage and Siddharth Bachhawat struck twice to have Armadale in trouble at 2/18. A big day with the ball next week.
ODA had a horror game vs Riverton/Rostrata. Batting first we only made 82 with only 3 batsmen making double figures. Riverton passed the score with only 4 wickets down on 4/83, Reddy Madamshetti taking 2/11.
ODB were back to their best with a resounding win vs Armadale. Batting first our openers put on a century stand with Yesudas Kuriakose scoring 56 off 41 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes and Akhil Mathew retiring not out on 68. Sethuraj Rajendran scored 38, Shanab Valappil 38no and Suneeth Vinod Suseela 39 off 21 balls with 5 big sixes. The team amassed 4/285. Armadale were bundled out for 150 with Libu Louis Jainy taking 3/20 and Suneeth Vinod Suseela 2/14.
ODD had a surprise loss in it’s game vs SJ Blues. Bowling first SJ Blues ended with 3/200 with 49 extras to help them along. Our chase was cut short with us all out for 133, Stefan Varughese making 33 and Melvin Thomas top scoring with 35no.
ODE continued their winning ways with 6 wins in a row vs Piara Waters. Bowling first we dismantled their batting line up bowling them out for just 85 with all wickets bowled or LBW, no catches at all. Yasas Gunasekara was again the wrecker with another bag of wickets taking 5/20 along with Rusiru Pitiyage 2/13 and Saliya Widanagamage 2/12. The chase had a few hiccups along the way but opener Missaka Wickramasinghe was in fine form with 42 from 42 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. We ended on 9/151 and stay tied on top of the table.
