Weekend Wrap – 21st 22nd October

Wow what a weekend of cricket for the Tigers. 10 games played and 8 games won. There were 5 fors, 50s and even a hatrick.

4th Grade Saturday won vs Roleystone. Batting first we made 183 thanks to opener Shazad Rafique with 70 from 50 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes and Vijay Kumar with 51. We then bowled Roleystone out for 101 with Shazad Rafique having an all round game with 4/26 and 2 wickets each to Sooraj Suresh 2/12 and Asim Qureshi 2/16.

4th Grade Sunday made it 2 wins vs SJ Blues. Batting first we made a handy 169 with opener Siddahanth Mokala making 36 and Haroon Ahmed 39. It came down to the last over with 9 needed for SJ Blues but Siddahanth Mokala took his 5th wicket in a haul of 5/25 to keep them to 4 runs and a total of 9/165. Sooraj Suresh taking 2/17. Three wins out of Four for Fourth Grade.

6th Grade Saturday won vs Hilton. Batting first we got out of the blocks with a 97 run opening partnership with Shamez making 48 and Liam Bastin on debut a fine 66. Matt Pedulla adding 28no to take the total to 6/179. We started with the ball on fire as Guri Singh took a hatrick to reduce them to 3/10 and then Kulbir Singh taking 5/22, bowling Hilton out for 125.

6th Grade Sunday won vs Roleystone. Bowling first we kept them to 156 with Vihanga Silva taking 3/36 and 2 wickets each to Harsh Jansali 2/41, Guri Singh 2/18 and Jack Robb 2/11. The chase went well for us with Jackson Curthoys 42 and Keegan Bennett 41 guiding us home and Asim adding 25 at the end to post 7/197. Three wins out of Four for Sixth Grade.

7th Grade Saturday lost vs Cockburn. Bowling first we could only restrict Cockburn to 8/205, 2 wickets each to Manoj Mohan 2/27, Shashi Pidikiti 2/40 and Nagarjuna Karnam 2/56. In the chase things did not go well as we were bowled out for 100 with only Siddharth Bachhawat making a good score with 50no.

7th Grade Sunday won on forfiet vs Thornlie

ODA won vs Forrestdale. Batting first we made 183 with good scores from Dwarakanath 53 and opener Yeshwanth 36. Our bowlers kept it tight and bowled them out for just 104, Dwarakanath taking 3/6, Ravi Mungi 2/16 and Vijay Bhogi 2/10. First win in ODA on the Captains, Reddy Madamshetti, 100th game.

ODB won vs Armadale. Bowling first we bowled them out for just 114 with Yesudas Kuriakose taking 3/10, Akhil Mathew 2/12 and Rahul Nair 2/8. The chase was swift, knocking off the runs in just 17 overs finishing on 2/115 with Eldose Paul making 29 and Sethuraj Rajendran 39no.

ODD lost vs Thornlie. Batting first we were bundled out for just 117, Jijinlal Kg top scoring with 27 and Stefan Varughese 24. Thornlie then piled on the pain making 5/232, Safil Sharif taking 2/24.

ODE won vs Piara Waters. Batting first we made a good score of 5/180 with opener Heshan Nanayakkara making 46 and Sandeepa Vedage 50no. Our bowers kept Piara Waters quiet bowling them out for just 63, Irosh Ranathunga taking 3/13, Adeesha Welgama 2/3 and Yasas Gunasekara 2/14.
