A Horror weekend for the Tigers as we lose 6 out of 7, but a brilliant win from our 7th Grade as they defend 108.
Fourth Grade needed to defend 167 vs Jandakot, but the loss of 2 bowlers to injury reduced them to 9 players and Jandakot feasted on the runs scoring 294. Vijay Kumar took 3/70, Asim Qureshi 3/82 and Haroon Ahmed 2/18. Will need a big comeback game next week top make finals.
Sixth Grade tried to defend 113 vs Leeming and they did a great job at the start having Leeming struggling at 4/45 with Guri Singh taking 3 wickets, but Leeming dug in and passed our score 5 down. The flood gates then opened up as they reached 6/244.
Seventh Grade were defending 108 vs Phoenix, but they reached 31 before the 1st wicket fell to Canakapalli which got our bowlers fired up as we took the next 9 wickets for just 47 runs. Dwarakanath taking 3/19, Balvinder Kumar 3/15, Manoj Kiradi 2/1 and a wicket each to Reddy and Ravi. We then batted for 13 overs, making 6/82. A great comeback win boys!!
ODC had a bad day vs East Fremantle at Queens Park. Batting first we were bundled out for just 116, with only Eldose Paul making an impact with 42. East Freo chased down the runs easily, making 7/189, Joel Joy taking 2/16.
ODE had a rare loss to East Fremantle at Sutherlands Park. Bowling first we were in control of the game at 7/124 but the tail got away from us with them ending on 9/175 with the help of 35 wides. Anto Baby taking 2/24 and Alex Samuel 2/23. The chase started well adding 47 for the first wicket but we lost a bunch of wickets to reach 6/102 when we made another comeback at 8/143. A final push by Rahul Nair and Alex Samuel almost got us there but we fell 13 runs shy at 8/162. Riju Mathew top scoring with 32, Rahul finishing on 29no and Anto Baby with 27.
ODG were away to Jandakot, won the toss and Bowled first. Jandakot had a field day with the bat as they poured on the runs to reach 2/225 with only Vihanga Silva and MA Zainudeen taking a wicket. The chase was going to be tough but we gave it a good shove as we reached 8/175. Sandeepa Vedage ending on 43no with 38 runs from 18 balls to Lakmal Madushanka with 3 sixes and 4 fours. A rare loss drops us to 2nd on the ladder.
