Solid scores from Haroon Ahmed 28, Vijay Kumar 39, Sunil Dogra 30 and Umar Qureshi 28no pushed our score to a decent 7/175 but it wouldn’t be enough as the Hilton bats were in an aggressive mood and piled on the runs to reach 4/276 with their number 3 making 145no off 125 balls. The Kenwick openers were in fine form reaching 91 before the first wicket by Harsh Jansali as our bowlers started getting on top, 2 wickets each from Guri and Vijay kept them to 7/151 but a late flurry of runs in the last 3 overs pushed their score to 7/183 which would be crucial. The run chase started steady reaching 41 before Shamez Rashid fell and then 2quick wickets had us on the back foot at 3/51. Sunil Dogra joined Haroon and together took up the attack to the bowlers adding 69 before Haroon fell for 43 and the score now 4/120. Sunil kept attacking but his loss for a brilliant 55 off 44 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes was telling and we lost another wicket next ball to be 6/141 with 8 overs left. Farooq hit out for 11 runs but only 15 runs would come from the last 3 overs and we finished 8 runs short of a victory on 9/175. We now drop out of the four and must bounce back next week.
