This weeks “Blast from the Past” #29 is a dedicated Tiger and a great club man, the hard working, Gerald Hunt.
Gerald played with the Tigers for 14 seasons from 1992/93 to 2005/06 playing in 154 games. Gerald was a gritty batsman who could dig in when the times were tough and would always give his all. With the bat Gerald scored 1592 runs at an average of 10.34 with a highest score of 49 vs Cockburn in 2002/03 season, and yes, he did hit 1 six! With the ball he took 3 wickets as a very part time bowler. It was off the field where Gerald was at his best serving on the Committee for many years and as President for the Mighty Tigers. He was awarded the Social Supporter award 3 times in 1994/95, 2004/05 and 2007/08 and was made a Life Member in 2008. Gerald continues his support at Tigerland and is a common sight at home games.
