This weeks blast from the past #23 is Alan Walters. Alan was a brilliant swing bowler and a very handy batsman, he played 19 seasons for the Tigers from 1984/85 to 2015/16 playing in 241 games (8th most overall) he played in 7 Grand Finals, the equal most of all Tigers, winning one as Captain of 6th Grade in 2006/07. With the bat Alan scored 4141 runs (8th overall) at an average of 18 and a highest score of 90 vs Leeming in 2006/07, he scored 15 fifties. With the ball is where Alan really excelled taking 353 wickets (equal 8th place) at an average of 18.28 taking a five for 6 times and 10 wickets in a match once where he took his best figures of 9/44 vs Kelmscott in 2005/06. Only 2 Tigers have taken 9 wickets in an innings, the other being Eddy Stanik 9/33.

Alan was awarded the Paul Keep Cricketer of the Year in 2005/06 and has been a great supporter of the club over the years. Please share your stories of Alan in the comments below.
